Membrane remains suspended above well bottom, allowing co-culture: grow one cell line inside insert, and another below in the well. Ideal for drug transfer assays, transport studies, migration assays, and cell-cell interaction studies. Inserts center in wells, preventing membrane from touch-ing sides and wicking between insert and side wall. 0.4um pore size is ideal for co-culture and drug transport studies. 3.0 and 8.0um pore size is ideal for angiogenesis and chemotaxis experiments. Non -Treated Plates sold separately; carrier plate is Tissue Culture Treated. Plate manufactured from high clarity virgin polysytrene with polycarbonate membrane insert. The ibidi Culture-Insert family is developed for wound healing, co-cultivation, and migration assays of adherent cells. A proprietary biocompatible adhesive is applied to the underside of the Culture-Insert which allows it to adhere to any flat, clean, and dry surface. The Culture-Insert 4 Well consists of four wells, representing the four quarters of the round Culture-Insert. The wells are separated by a wall of 500 µm. When the wells are filled with adherent cells, a cell–free gap of 500 µm is created between the adjacent wells after removing the Culture-Insert 4 Well. Additionally, a center gap of 1000 µm is created, allowing to observe the migration of all cell types at once. Live-cell imaging can be used to analyze the gap closures. The micro–Insert 4 Well is a biocompatible, silicone insert ideal for long term microscopy and stem cell cultivation. The micro–Insert has a special sticky bottom that prevents leaking on clean, flat, and dry surfaces, such as microscopy slides and dishes. Adherent or non–adherent cells placed into the small wells sink to the bottom and can be analyzed microscopically. The wells provide rectangular digital format (4:3) for covering the entire area by CCD cameras on microscopes. Tapered walls provide excellent optical access to cells located near the edges of the well. After cell attachment, the micro-Insert can be removed by using sterile tweezers without leaving a residue.
