INTRO: Gelacell, manufactured by Gelatex Technologies, is a unique, 3D microfibrous scaffold specifically engineered for advanced in vitro 3D cell culture and tissue engineering applications. DESCRIPTION: This variant of Gelacell is specially designed for medium-to-long term cell culture durations. Scaffolds made from pharmaceutical grade gelatin are fixed to cell crowns in a 24-well plate. The cell crowns act as Boyden chambers for facilitating studies related to air-liquid interface culture, co-culture, complex tissue models, etc. Gelacell also makes a robust platform for drug screening and other cell culture investigations. The optimized design of the scaffold ensures thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability, while also providing substantial swelling capabilities and porosity, allowing efficient nutrient diffusion and thereby preventing cellular waste build up.

The ibidi Culture-Insert family is developed for wound healing, co-cultivation, and migration assays of adherent cells. The Culture-Insert 2 Well consists of two wells, separated by a 500 µm wall. A proprietary biocompatible adhesive is applied to the underside of the Culture-Insert which allows it to adhere to any flat, clean, and dry surface. A cell suspension can be placed in the wells allowing the adherent cells to grow in the designated areas only. After cell cultivation, the Culture-Insert can be removed by using sterile tweezers. The removal creates a clean, cell-free, and well-defined 500 µm gap. The ibidi Culture-Insert family is developed for wound healing, co-cultivation, and migration assays of adherent cells. A proprietary biocompatible adhesive is applied to the underside of the Culture-Insert which allows it to adhere to any flat, clean, and dry surface. The Culture-Insert 4 Well consists of four wells, representing the four quarters of the round Culture-Insert. The wells are separated by a wall of 500 µm. When the wells are filled with adherent cells, a cell–free gap of 500 µm is created between the adjacent wells after removing the Culture-Insert 4 Well. Additionally, a center gap of 1000 µm is created, allowing to observe the migration of all cell types at once.
